This is my submission to the Foundry's Test Drive MODO & MARI Challenge Drive MODO. - The challenge was about to bring artists vision of a futuristic vehicle to life that would be considered a classic in 2055. The first challenge was to imagine a vehicle from concept that would be model in MODO. The second challenge was to texture the vehicle using MARI to create a beauty render.
My concept.
A.D. 2055. Drone-based 'cars' are everywhere. Mighty central computer controls everything in the sky. It is possible thanks to advanced autopilot system mounted in every flying piece of metal/glass/plastic/carobonium…. whatever. Flying without using autopilot is strongly forbidden. (Ask yourself, why?) Some of us would have no problem with that... just type the destination and let the computers to take you to the place. Safe, fast and comfortable. No bad drivers, traffic jam… and also no freedom. Is there in such a perfect world a place for those who love to drift towards of a setting sun without any limits and control? Of course there is! It’s not cheap (since you get two micro-fusion power generator in standard equipment) but who cares! „You can’t put a price on freedom” - they say!
